We have a Discord and syntax highlighting.

This update brings a couple of items I've intended to address for a while. It's been really nice to see the sparks of a community in the Discord. ## Syntax highlighting

In the end it wasn't that painful, EYG has syntax and now it has syntax highlighting.

The highlighting uses a TextMate grammar. It is available in VS Code. Please let me know if you use other editors and know what I need to do to support them.

Come join the Discord

Talking about reaching out to me, there is now an EYG Discord. It's a small group of us at the moment, so come and join before it's cool.

Share programs with their dependencies

Bundling and replacing relative references with content-addressed ones is now automatic in eyg share. This gives you more freedom in laying out your projects locally while keeping the ecosystem built on a foundation of immutable references.

Bundled programs are shipped as a Content Addressable aRchives (CAR), a standard for transporting multiple content addressed blobs.

Sharing also requires any release references to be fully pinned. ## Better publishing and identity management

Two new commands have been added to the CLI. Use eyg signatory list to see all your local publishing identities, and eyg signatory show <alias> to see the full history of an individual signatory.

All published releases to the hub are signed by an author's private key. This allows for a web of trusted authorship to be built for your application dependencies.

A final favour

We are organising Gleam Gathering 2027 in London on the 27th February. Gleam is a great tool and the foundation that's got me this far with EYG. We'd love to see you there. If you know someone who might be interested please share, it all helps.
